Caitlin Newton is a certified Bell Mechanics Coach, Warrior Body Coach, Girls on the Run Coach, and founder of Stronger Runner. She graduated from West Virginia University as a Coaching and Performance Science Major in May of 2024 and grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts. The only thing that has taken her away from running at any point in the last 15-plus years has been injuries, which she learned the hard way, you do not become a better runner by pushing through. Ever since intentionally starting her strength training journey and learning to properly lift heavy weights, Caitlin felt compelled to share this knowledge with others. It has become a pivotal focus for her in training and participating in two Every Woman's Marathons. Caitlin is an energetic and inspiring coach and a firm believer that you can accomplish anything with the right attitude. Her upcoming races include the 2026 Marine Corps Marathon fundraising for Team Semper K9 and the 2027 Every Woman's Marathon in New Orleans. Leading her life through a lens of gratitude, she will happily celebrate a run of any distance along the way and encourages you to as well.

Whichever variation you choose to go through, you will work for 30 seconds and do 3 rounds. If you do not have a band, you can hold a weight up over your shoulders in that pullover position

Glute Bridge March Pullover Hold

Strength 1

For this strength circuit, complete 3 rounds of each exercise just like the one before! 10 reps on each side. If you do not have a band, hold a lightweight in place of the band in the goblet position

Palloff Press with ISO Hold

Goal is to work through 6-8 reps for 3 rounds in the circuit, but if reps 5 & 6 feel challenging, you can stop there! Our first priority is keeping good form on your push up - whole body moving as a unit

2 rounds of one rep each side - that is why it is called the one rep wonder! The demo video I go through both sides, so if you play it while you are doing it I can talk you through it

2 rounds, 20 seconds - you can use the video to cue the drops or come up & drop every 5 seconds - do the chops before the 2nd round of hops

Pogo Hop to Drop Hinge

2 rounds, 5 each side - keep your front foot pressing into the ground especially as you chop & make sure your core is nice and tight!

3 rounds, 10 reps - complete the other two exercises before doing your 2nd round - this exercise is the only one of this circuit that has a 3rd round, so once you have done your 3rd round of squats, you will move onto Strength A

After your first set, then complete the first round of the other two exercises, and continue in a circuit format for 3 rounds - notice your RDL is the only one you are doing 3 rounds of

KB Drag to Goblet Clean

3 rounds, 6 reps each side - try to go a few pounds heavier than last week

Complete your first round, go through the other two exercises, and then complete your following two rounds in the same order

For this strength circuit, complete 3 rounds of each exercise just like the one before! 10 reps on each side. If you do not have a band, hold a lightweight in place of the band in the goblet position and press out from there

Single Leg Deficit Calf Raise

2 rounds, 5 reps - these should be explosive and quick! 

3 rounds, 10 reps - complete the other two exercises before doing your 2nd round

3 rounds, 6 reps each side - after 3rd round go into strength A

3 rounds, 10 reps each side - see if you can go heavier from last week on sets 2 & 3 - do your side plank before coming back to your rows!

2 rounds, 12 reps - can do a vertical toss to catch if no ball

2 rounds, 5 reps each side - see if you can go 5 lbs heavier from what you have been doing here!

Single Leg Pogo Hops

The weight you lift in the staggered stance will be less than last week, but that is expected! Building strength in each individual leg will help you become stronger when both legs are working together. If you have one side that is normally weaker than the other, I would start on that side first. After your first set on both sides, complete the first round of the other two exercises, and continue in a circuit format for 3 rounds.

Complete your first round, go through the other two exercises, and then complete your following two rounds in the same order

3 rounds, 6 passes in each directions, heavier weight for as long as you can maintain control of the torso
